I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Violent Crime, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. We are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a large fight outside a pub in Kingsclere.
Officers were called at 11.04pm on Friday 10 July to reports of an altercation involving multiple people outside The Crown on Newbury Road.
A man in his 20s was punched and kicked and was taken to hospital to receive treatment after he suffered a laceration to his hand.
As part of our enquiries, officers arrested two people in connection with the incident.
A 31-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray.
A 26-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of affray, assault by beating and possessing a controlled drug of Class B.
Both men have been bailed with conditions, to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.
Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries to identify everyone involved and to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
We are particularly keen to hear from people who were inside the pub or from witnesses who have not yet spoken to police.
